Shopify fee and profit
Plan cost and card fees against a product’s price.
Result
Enter a price. The plan’s share of one order is separate from the card fee.
How this works
On Shopify Payments, the card fee is the plan’s online rate for the card type you pick. International adds the published one percentage point to the standard rate and keeps the same flat fee. Premium uses the premium rate on that plan.
If you pick another processor, Shopify’s third-party percentage is added, and you type the processor’s own percent and flat fee. Nothing is invented for that second rate. The monthly plan price, or the yearly price divided into months, is spread across the number of orders you say you ship. Profit is the order minus product cost, the shipping you pay, the card or processor fees, and that slice of the plan.
An example
A $64 item on Basic, billed monthly, standard online card, Shopify Payments, 40 orders a month, $22 of cost, no shipping. Shopify’s own $100 illustration of this card rate is $3.20. Here the fee scales with $64, and the plan adds $39 divided by 40 orders.
